2023-24 has been a great year for Hewett Academy with record breaking GCSE results, 8 pieces of artwork in the Royal Academy, a complete school rebuilding project on the horizon and now an Ofsted grading of “Good with Outstanding features”! With this success has come an increase in pupil numbers that means we now have an exciting opportunity for an inspiring Tutor (English) to join our committed and hardworking team at Hewett Academy.

The main responsibility of this role will be:

  • To monitor and support overall progress and development of students as a tutor and therefore contribute to raising standards of student attainment
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To share and support the School responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth


The ideal candidate will have:

  • English Qualification equivalent to Degree level
  • Qualified Teacher Status would be desirable
  • Experience of teaching in a secondary Academy
  • Theory and practice of providing effectively for the individual needs of all students
  • The monitoring, assessment, recording and reporting of pupils’ progress
